The legend of St Patrick, who allegedly came to Ireland in the fifth century to spread the word of Christ and banish snakes from its shores, is a tall tale according to historians.

Regardless, we Americans love a party, and St. Patty's day is the main event on March 17 all over, whether you're Irish, Mexican or a typical "Heinz 57" mix of nationalities and races as so many Americans are.

Monsters and Critics put out the clarion call for the best in new drink ideas, party food fare, fashion, party favors and more to ring in St. Patrick's Day 2013 with some style.

St. Patrick’s Day Best New Cocktails - French made Prévu surprised us with their signature St Patty day drink, which really is a lovely blend of chocolate and berry flavor, the mint enhancing the whole experience. Well worth your efforts:

Wild Leprechaun (St. Patrick’s Day Cocktail, and it's 102 calories!)

-Combine the following ingredients in a shaker:

· 1 oz Prévu (45 calories)

· ½ oz Peppermint Schnapps (42 calories)

· 5 or 6 fresh mint leaves (0 Calories)

· 1 teaspoon of Mrs. Richardson's Chocolate Fudge Dip (15 Calories)

· Muddle hard and thoroughly to release flavors

· Fill shaker with crushed ice and shake rigorously

· Pour contents into glass and garnish with mint leaves

We absolutely love Prévu - a new sparkling liqueur that contains 70% vodka and 30% cognac.

The flavors are delicate, immersed with black currant, raspberry, blackberry and a touch of violet flower, giving it a savory appeal and natural sophistication. Prévu's ingredients are all certified organic and natural with a 17% alcohol proof and was created by 27-year old Simon Tikhman.

The extraordinary bottle design has a custom transparent dual-layer skin cap that was specifically hand crafted for easy handling and accompanied by a laser-etched surface. Although Prévu has a smaller proof than other liqueurs, consumers can actually taste the refreshing blend of vodka and cognac. The unique flavor is best when served on the rocks, chilled, with lime or as a mixer.

We found it to be a great topper for Prosecco or Champagne too.

Simon Tikhman always had an interest in owning his own alcoholic beverage company. Since being raised in a organic household then studying Business at USC, Tikhman felt there wasn't enough focus on organic/natural alcoholic drinks. Within a year, he created Prévu.

Currently, Prévu is served in San Francisco at Circa Lounge, Manor West and Mas Sake. In Los Angeles Prévu can be found at Craig’s, BOA, 1902 and Chinois on Main in Santa Monica even has an official Prévu drink!
