The Best in Holiday 2012 Gift Finds is an ongoing series until December that celebrates the practical to the extravagant, the unusual to the commonly needed items of everyday life.
From food, wine and spirits to beauty, clothing and even home goods and appliances, we have been trying and testing and ultimately weeding out the good stuff you should consider for giving this holiday season. Take us shopping with you.
Why do the British know how to suck so well? Dyson brand is top in category for the sole fact their designs work, and they stand by their not inexpensive products with the best warranty and support in the category.
Now you are saying, a vacuum cleaner and hair busting accessory for a Holiday gift? Times are tough, and practical gifts like a good vacuum that works is a major get for some people! And by some people I mean me, the primary tester of all these items and now proud owner of a dust-free immaculate home.
The DC41 comes with a large motorized head, a mini turbine head, upholstery tool, blinds and fan blades tool, the “Magic Wand” and the manuals.
The “Magic Wand” on the DC41 is a space saver, as it slides down inside the suction hose when not in use, so if the vacuum is upright, suction will go to the end of the wand, if it is in the position to move, suction goes straight to the head.

The only issue I could find DC41 is the long cord with no auto retract. Yes I hate the cord wrapping bit, but the sheer power of this beast and ability to suck the dirt from under your house's foundation make it one niggling thing to overlook.
Dyson has rolled out their ingenious $69.99 Tool that works with their top of the line Dyson DC41, the Rolls Royce of vacuums. The coolest thing to invest in - especially for a house full of long hair types and animals - is this new vacuum attachment: Dyson's Tangle-Free Turbine Tool.
The issue of design is what separates the Dysons from the others. The typical vacuum cleaner's brush bar gets easily jammed and gacked up from hair, yet this Dyson tool has a different mechanism that grabs the hair with counter-rotating heads with brushes that suck-up hair and dirt without tangling.
Hair and dirt are then deposited straight into the bin where it can be emptied hygienically. The tool is engineered to provide constant contact with uneven surfaces for edge-to-edge cleaning.
I have never loved an appliance like these Dyson vacuums. The new tool is the cherry on the icing.
The Tangle-free Turbine tool is available now at Best Buy and will be available on Dyson.com and most major retailers, check it out:
