The latest trend for pain management does not come in a pill or a heating pad, but a twist on the bed of nails approach.

Swedish company Halsa has created an effective accupressure mat that hits the right nerves, affording some real relief from pain.

The Swedish Halsa Mat stimulates your body’s acupressure points and is based on the usage of ancient Indian tradition of spike mats that were first used about 5,000 years ago by fakirs and yogis, mainly to release physical, mental and emotional blocks.

The new hälsa mat is a modernized version of a bed of nails.

This innovative concept operates under the same idea as deep tissue massage and acupressure, as the mat is used to naturally stimulate the release of endorphins and oxytocin, the body’s own pain relief hormones.  These hormones also promote mental and physical wellbeing.

What you get with your hälsa mat are 8,820 individual spikes that stimulate your body’s acupressure points, helping it to release its natural pain relief hormones.

To use is easy, you simply lie down to reap the benefits of increased blood circulation, lower blood pressure and increased nutrient delivery throughout the body.

Some users report to the company using the mat has helped to reduce the appearance of cellulite.

This hot item is seen all over in trailers and on sets, and is for anybody that wants to increase their energy levels naturally.

It feels great and is best used on bare skin, though to get used to it you may need a thin t-shirt until you get used to the feel of it.

It is recommended to begin by using it for 10 minutes per day, increasing the time to 20-30 minutes after one week.

The hälsa mat is available in black, green and purple and is under $40 USD, and is available here
