The hottest event of the week in all of Los Angeles happened at the chic and understated rooftop of L'Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on August 16, as glossy fashionista Angeleno magazine hosted their annual Poolside Beauty party.

The scene was a blue skies girl candy land fantasy, with those exquisite late-day golden rays of sun lighting up the event perfectly.

The best of the best in skincare, makeup, beach essentials, bikinis, facial plastic surgeons, footwear, hair removal, hair care and even art pieces and food brands were flanking the shimmering aqua pool decorated with models wearing Beach Bunny bejeweled swimwear.

La Fete Design supplied the made in the USA minimalist clean and comfortable resort beds and lounge seating that was all in white.

Also there were reps from LaserAway, the place where tattoos and other unwanted skin marks can be removed safely. They are located from San Diego to Walnut Creek.

A fun item was given to attendees: Icons of beauty hand-painted on wood, and signed by the artist courtesy of Artspace Warehouse, who showed off their contemporary European art for all collectors.

The event provided the most influential female tastemakers in Los Angeles with summer beauty essentials.  The Beach Bunny bikini-clad models were sporting the new "Rock The Casbah" line with stunning metal embellishments. The Beach Bunny crew told me they were excited that their newest retail door was opening in the hip Malibu lumberyard, one of my favorite destinations. Their bikinis are made to be seen in, and really are not for the athletic swim types. If you have curves, this made in the USA line is your new best friend.  Even their beach towels are sexy with plush thick cotton and ruffled edges.

The rooftop had an area where sit-down manicures were being given by Bellacures, plus deep tissue massages were offered by Spa_Tiara.

Delicious Asian inspired hors d'ouevres and incredibly sexy cocktails made with St. Germaine liquor and Svedka Vodka, muddled with fresh seasonal fruit, were passed around to the lucky guests who were treated to goodies and services.

Experts were on hand too, as Cedars-Sinai's board-certified Dr. Betty Kim of Betty Kim MD Plastic and Reconstructive surgery in Beverly Hills was on hand to explain the nuances of different facial fillers and injectibles like Botox and more.  Her practice covers breast augmentation, reconstruction, panoply of facial/neck work and even liposuction.

Dr. Lawrence Piro was there from "The Doctors" and he chatted with guests about the latest in maintenance health care.

Hair care was covered by BE Beverly Hills and their hard-working stylists, who tamed and curled people's hair, taking so-so locks and transforming them in front of everyone. BE Beverly Hills Inspired Shine & Repair Serum is the original eco-luxury hair care line, made of all natural ingredients while not weighing the hair down or making it feel oily.

Inspired works on all ethnic hair types and even gives body to hair extensions. It is considered to be revolutionary in the hair care industry and is one of the fastest growing hair care products available on the web. They also shared with me the opening of a new Blow Dry Bar in Playa Vista, coming this November.  Bonus Intel: BE will give any new facebook followers 50% off their order placed through the social media site.

Another hair care company, Joico, was promoting their new K-Pak Revitaluxe, with stylist George Papanokolas on hand to answer styling questions.  The entire K-Pak line is excellent, and also made here in the USA.

Hair removal was another poolside subject, as the latest in hair removal technology, the Depilar System was demonstrated.  They boast a newly enhanced enzyme-based formula, featuring 5-10 times higher enzyme activity than any other existing treatments.  Depilar System  is used directly after a traditional waxing to target and destroy hair follicles.

Also poolside was hotspot Stript Wax Bar www.striptwaxbar.com and hair removal expert and licensed  esthetician Katherine Goldman.  Her big buzzworthy claim was The Vajacial™ – a four-step “facial” for your va-ja-jay area that rids your other set of lips from ingrown hairs. Thankfully I didn't see this in action, but they
were demonstrating the Depilar System Permanent Hair Removal and the CryBaby™ Semi-Permanent Mascara – a new favorite of Allure’s beauty editors, CryBaby treatments curl, lengthen and thicken lashes while remaining waterproof, smudge-proof and clump-free for up to three weeks. This was one item that I wish I had made time to try out.

Another Allure fave at the soiree was the Brazilian Peel - a syringe-filled
glycolic miracle worker for aging concerns and breakouts. The pro-strength formula obliterates imperfections, blemishes, fine lines and refines skin color. This is a fabulous product that the acne-plagued teen and the mother fighting hormonal breakouts can share.

Angeleno magazine also brought in the best new female owned, made in the USA skincare and beauty items, notably LaROCCA a fabulous natural skincare line free of parabens and sulfates and made with 24K Gold, which promotes more efficient cell turnover. I tried their tinted lash enhancer in Cioccolato, a medium brown liquid eyeliner that also stimulates lash growth, worn at the lashline. Then I had my makeup refreshed with their SPF 15 Vitamin Repair Mist. Great idea, especially for runners and those who want little weight on the skin when they do any outdoor exercise in the heat.

Votre_Vu was another natural skincare line that shared their latest clever design, a portable hand crème with a flip-top lid with a hidden sheer raspberry colored lip balm inside, dubbed The BèBè Duette, a big hit with traveling reporters, celebrities and editors attending the event.

Robbie Lip Gloss was featured next door, as lip glosses were filling giant martini
glasses, and the colors ranged from fleshy nudes to deep crimsons and gold flecked mauves. Also made in the USA, their claim to fame was the treatment aspect of its base. Six pretty colors to choose from.

Emmy award winning-makeup artist Melanie Mills had her Team_Gleam there to glam up the guests. Their table was three deep at times as people had their arms, décolleté and legs enhanced by the body radiance makeup that was invented on the set of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" by Mills.

Gleam Body Radiance is made in the USA with cruelty free skin loving ingredients and sold at the website and locally at salon Studio DNA, beauty supply Frends and Le Venus.

Four shades of transfer-resistant radiance hid imperfections and gave a velvet glow and perfect skin finish for the lightest to the deepest skins.  Bonus Intel: Melanie is debuting Gleam Lip Radiance, a luxury line of lipglosses this fall in time for the holidays!

Feet were handled by Ipanema - another hot table where complimentary made in Brazil flip flop sandals were doled out. The Ipanema team gave me a pair sporting a heart decoration that perfectly matched my pedicure polish. The 100% recyclable sandal is made in eco-friendly factories where the shoe is comprised of 30% recycled material itself, and 99% of their factory waste is recycled too.

Harmonie Krieger, the Marketing Manager for Angeleno magazine, oversaw this wonderful event. Angeleno magazine is a coastal publication that covers Los Angeles! “The Playboy Club” star Amber Heard is their latest cover girl.
