The season here in Los Angeles was a strange one, not as hot as we normally get, a few days over 100 degrees, but whenever we get off this easy, it means our fall season will be hot, windy and dry, as fire season is squarely upon us.

Fall also means more attention to hairstyles and makeup, to properly balance the look with the array of fashion trends. Koh Gen Do was first introduced to me by makeup department head Melanie Mills in the "Dancing with the Stars" makeup trailer. Their gentle skincare from
Japan was a go-to staple for many to cleanse and protect their skin. The line has expanded and now moved into retailers like Barneys. The company sent M&C
their latest peeling Gommage Gel which is abrasive-free and made with White Birch sap juice and rosemary and sage extracts.
The clear gel is applied to clean skin and worked in circular sweeps all over (you can actually see the dead stuff coming off in the gel suspension). It was
designed for the Rosacea afflicted people who need that gentle exfoliant, minus the walnut and apricot seed grit that scratches and scrapes off the epidermis in

How much do I love this line of lip care? So very much! From the good state of Maine comes a line of organic lip care that was invented in 1991 by then college student Gabrielle Melchionda, right in her mother's kitchen. Gabrielle was hopeless in math in school, but adored anthropology. She also liked creating natural organic
lip and body balms that were user friendly.
Gabrielle concocted a natural organic base for all her balms with Shea and Mango Butter and combined them with real mint oils and more amazing natural
ingredients for a fabulous feeling product. When you apply her lip shimmers, it feels cool like your lipstick had been in the refrigerator. That's the mint effect in
the product.
Mad Gab's Natural Lip Shimmers are a happy find for me, and I am addicted to Moose Shimmer (never in my life did I think I would be singing the praises of a

My friend stole the Monkey shimmer, she likes the paler ballet pink look. Moose Shimmer is a mauve-y pink natural color, and Bear Shimmer is a richer plum look. These lip shimmers are a must try, and a real surprise as it looks like a crayon unopened, but then swivels up like a chapstick and has the finish of a traditional lipstick.
