Feb 22, 2012, 6:08 GMT
Geneva - The Golf GTI in a convertible version is making its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month after a first study of the model was revealed last year at an event in Austria.
Power comes from the 2-litre turbo four-cylinder unit with an output of 210 hp. Customers have the choice between a manual six-gear transmission or six-gear dual-clutch. Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h is listed at seven seconds with a top speed of 240 km/h.
Compared to the standard version GTI, the convertible comes with the same GTI skirts and red-framed front grille, 17-inch alloys and sport seats.
The convertible is expected to be priced at around 32,500 euros (42,800 dollars) which is some 5,000 euros more expensive than the standard GTI.
