Ford B-Max to debut in Geneva
Feb 15, 2012, 3:06 GMT
Geneva - Ford is planning to unveil the B-Max van fitted with two large sliding doors and intelligent interior design with the vehicle scheduled for delivery to European showrooms in the second half of the year.
Based on the Fiesta, the production version of the B-Max has no B-pillar, which gives the vehicle a roomier feeling. To comply with crash-test requirements the carmaker has strengthened the doors.
Design cues have been taken from the Iosis Max concept study revealed in 2009 with headlights stretched far toward the rear and a trapezoidal front grille which is an evolution of Ford's Kinetic Design.
Like its main competitor, the Opel Meriva, the B-Max also measures four metres in length with a flexible interior concept. The basic version is fitted with the Fiesta 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo engine with an output of 100 hp. Consumption is listed at four litres per 100 kilometres. In addition Ford is offering its well-known Duratorq TDCi diesel engine.
