New Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG
Feb 8, 2012, 3:06 GMT
Stuttgart - The Mercedes sports car division, AMG, has unveiled the new Mercedes ML 63 AMG fitted with a 5.5-litre V8 twin-turbo engine with an output of 386 kW/525 hp and a consumption listed at 11.8 litres per 100 kilometres - down 28 per cent compared to the predecessor model.
An optionally available AMG Performance package boosts the V8 engine's power output to 410 kW/557 hp and its maximum torque to 760 Newton metres.
Both variants of the ML 63 AMG have sports-car performance. Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h is at 4.8 seconds and 4.7 seconds respectively. The top speed is electronically regulated at 250 km/h.
The AMG body styling dominates the front view. The louvers under the radiator grille are painted in high-gloss black. Together with the two outer air intakes, the central radiator grille provides for an effective flow of air to the water, engine oil, charge-air and transmission oil coolers. Fitted at the bottom of the AMG front apron is a trim strip in matt silver chrome, giving the front a wider appearance.
Aluminium trim and the piano-lacquer retractable cover in the centre console highlight the interior's exclusive flair. The standard leather upholstery includes contrasting double top stitching and AMG badges in the backrests of the front seats and the outer rear seats.
Prices for the basic version start at 108,885 euros (143,085 dollars)
