Feb 1, 2012, 3:06 GMT
Munich - BMW is planning an i5 van version of its electric car family, according to reports in the German motoring press and recent spy photos of test models.
The i5 van with a high roof and spacious rear loading area would join the i3 small car and i8 sports car in 2015, the Autobild newspaper reports.
The i5 would be fitted with a rear power unit with an output of at least 170 hp. In addition, a three-cylinder petrol version with 90 hp and range extender are in the planning, the report said.
The price is expected to be no less than 50,000 euros (65,000 dollars).
