Jaguar joins club of over 300 km/h open-top sports cars

Los Angeles - Jaguar has joined the club of open-top sports cars with a top speed of over 300 km/h. Unvailed at the Los Angeles Motor Show this month, the XKR-S Convertable is powered by 550 hp motor.
The supercharged 5.0-litre V8 has been has been extensively modified, giving it more power and acceleration, zero to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. An active sports exhaust system provides a throaty sound. The vinyl roof opens and closes in 18 seconds. A prominent rear spoiler provides more downforce on the rear drive.
Inside features include a black piano finish for the central dashboard and a multi-functional sports steering wheel. Performance front seats with 16-way position adjustment, a memory function and intigrated seat heating. The carbon leather contrasts neatly with micro leather material.
Jaguar has not revealed any prices but with the coupe selling at 129,000 euros (173,300 dollars) in Europe, the roadster version is expected to sell for a significantly higher price.
