New high performance Mercedes ML 63 AMG

Affalterbach, Germany - The AMG sports car division of Mercedes launched a high performance version of the ML 63 Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) with a power output of 386 kW/525 hp which undercuts the fuel consumption of the predecessor model by 28 per cent, according to the manufacturer.
An optionally available AMG Performance package boosts the V8 engine's power output to 410 kW/ 557 hp and its maximum torque to 760 Newton metres.
The technology package includes a direct fuel injection with piezo injectors, ECO start/stop system, an all-aluminium crankcase, four valves per cylinder with camshaft adjustment, air-water charge air cooling and generator management.
The top speed is electronically regulated at 250 km/h. Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h is listed at 4.7 seconds. With or without the AMG Performance package, the fuel consumption is given at 11.8 litres per 100 kilometres which translates to a carbon dioxide emission figure of 276 grammes per kilometre.
