Sep 13, 2011, 22:01 GMT
Frankfurt - The Czech car maker Skoda is providing a peek at the production-ready new MissionL compact sedan at the Frankfurt Motor Show this month.
The MissionL is designed to close the gap between the Fabia and Octavia and is destined for markets in Europe, Russia, India and China. The car measures 4.5 metres in length with a boot capacity similar to a VW Jetta.
Built on an extended Fabia platform, the serial production version is expected to sell for between 13,000 euros (18,250 dollars) and 15,000 euros (21,000 dollars), depending on the engine size.
Customers will be able to choose from next year either the TSI petrol version or the Common Rail diesel unit.
Apart from a third model in the MissionL range, Skoda is expected to roll out its own version of the VW Up, the Skoda City, in early 2012.
