New Mercedes SLK Roadster with diesel engine
Aug 24, 2011, 3:06 GMT
Stuttgart - A diesel-powered version of the Mercedes SLK celebrates its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September with a consumption of 4.9 litres per 100 kilometres and a top speed of 240 km/h that is almost on par with the petrol-engined version.
Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h is in 6.7 seconds with the spurt from 80 to 120 km/h in 4.3 seconds.
From the exterior the diesel version can only be pinpointed by the CDI nameplate at the rear. All other details including chassis and roof options are the same as in the petrol version, according to the car maker.
The SLK 250 CDI is selling in Germany at a price of 41,829 euros (60,246 dollars) and is thus segmented between the petrol-engined SLK 200 and the SLK 250.
