Italians seen as Europe's worst drivers
Aug 24, 2011, 3:06 GMT
Rome - Both British and German motorists find Italians to be Europe's worst drivers on the road, according to a poll conducted by holiday autos car hire and a British online insurance agent.
Some 17 per cent of Britons who have driven a car abroad found foreign drivers 'very aggressive' with Italians topping the list with the worst reputation, according to New YouGov research, released by iCarhireinsurance.com.
The worst driver list was followed by the French and the Swedes from a list of ten European countries. Some 13 per cent of German drivers voted the Italians as the worst drivers followed by Turkey and the Netherlands, according to the holiday autos poll.
Prior to the holiday season several automobile associations warned motorists to inform themselves of different traffic rules and regulations which still differ substantially in most European countries.
