More details emerge on interior of new Mercedes B-Class
Aug 17, 2011, 4:06 GMT
Stuttgart - Mercedes has released more details including officials pictures of the redesigned cockpit of the new B-Class offering more spaciousness, a neater outlay of the instrument panel and a dashboard stitched with leather.
According to the car maker, the interior design is a reflection of the latest findings in the field of perceptual psychology made by Daimler AG's Customer Research Centre (CRC). The influence of the Advanced Design Studio in Como is also reflected in the interior design such as the free-floating, streamlined screen.
The screen is available in two sizes. It includes an ornamental frame with galvanised surface contrasting with the piano black of the front panel and a colour display.
According to Mercedes, the design first originated in Como, following an 'appreciation model' where designers can implement their ideal concepts, then look for a way to transfer these ideas to series production.
The new B-Class will be making its international debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 13-25 and will be available at European dealerships from November this year.
