Toyota to build 2012 electric RAV4 in Canada

Ontario, Canada - Toyota is to build the electric version of its RAV4 compact utility vehicle at its Woodstock plant in Ontario, Canada, with the electric components supplied by Tesla Motors in the United States, it has been announced.
Production is set for next year with Tesla supplying the battery, motor, gearbox and power electronics.
According to Toyota Canada, production of the E-Vehicle in Ontario would streamline and simplify the production process.
The power train is supported by a lithium-ion battery pack with an output of 150 hp and a range of between 128 and 200 kilometres.
First deliveries of the electric version of the RAV4 to selected fleet and government customers is expected by the middle of next year on the North American market. A price has not been released.
