Jul 13, 2011, 4:06 GMT
London - Jaguar has given several of its models a design makeover and other technical changes for next year as part of the company strategy to give the model range a more luxurious and sporty image.
The XFR is coming with a 5-litre supercharged engine with an output of 375 kW/510 horsepower and linked to a six speed automatic transmission. The front end has been pulled lower down with a rear wing positioned between the two tailpipes for improved road holding.
Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h is listed at 4.7 seconds with the top speed electronically limited at 250 km/h. Consumption is at 10.5 litres per 100 kilometres with a carbon dioxide emission figure of 292 grammes per kilometre.
The popular XF has become more similar in design to the XJ with bigger headlights and the front grille more elongated. LED daytime running lights are integrated into the headlights in the form of a J, giving the car a more concentrated and aggressive look.
The diesel variants XF 3.0 V6D 500 with an output of 177 kW/240 hp and the XF 3.0 V6D 600 with 202 kW/275 hp have the same exterior.
Jaguar describes the four cylinder diesel with an output of 140 kW/190 hp as the most economical Jaguar ever built with a consumption figure of 5.4 litres. At the same time it still comes with a formidable top speed of 225 km/h and an acceleration from zero to 100 km/h of 8.5 seconds.
