Jun 29, 2011, 3:07 GMT
Hamburg - The third generation Toyota Yaris will be delivered to European customers from October with a more 'compact' exterior design and interior spaciousness, according to the car maker.
With a more 'driver-orientated' cockpit, the 'Life' model features a multi-media system with a 6.1-inch touchscreen as standard equipment. A navigation system with an internet connection can be chosen as an option with a Google Maps application.
Customers have the choice of three engine sizes, starting with the basic 69 hp one-litre VVT-i motor in the three-door version. The five-door petrol-version has an output of 99 hp and the diesel engine 90 hp.
As with the predecessor model, the new Yaris comes in four different equipment versions. The European Yaris version is manufactured in the French city of Valenciennes.
