Jun 15, 2011, 3:06 GMT
Munich - Mini is expanding its product family with the launch of a coupe two-seater model, designed to give a distinct go-kart racing feeling, according to the car maker.
The Mini Coupe can be ordered with the most powerful petrol and diesel engines in the brand's arsenal with an output ranging from 90 kW/122 hp to the Mini John Cooper Works coupe with an output of 155 kW/211 hp.
Electric Power Steering, the standard-fitted DSC stability control system and powerful brakes are designed to give that go-kart feeling, according to the manufacturer.
A flat silhouette roof line and 'helmet roof' lend a sporty allure. In addition to the integral roof spoiler, an active rear spoiler optimises airflow at higher speeds. The high-opening tailgate and large luggage area have been designed for transporting leisure items or sports gear.
