VW planning a return of small car Lupo
Jun 15, 2011, 3:06 GMT
Wolfsburg, Germany - Volkswagen is planning to return the Lupo small car to the family after it had been replaced by the Brazilian-built Fox, according to a report in Germany's Autobild newspaper.
Expected to celebrate its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year, the new Lupo has a bonnet sloping sharply downward, similar to the new Beetle, with a rear design shown in the VW Up! Concept, according to pics published by the paper.
Production of the previous Lupo ceased in 2005 with a poor sales and mechanical reputation on the home German market. The Fox also failed to pick up on the European market with VW apparently planning to produce the new Lupo with an image more closely resembling other models in the family.
