Renault recalls two models in Slovakia over airbag problems
Jun 1, 2011, 8:26 GMT
Bratislava - French carmaker Renault Tuesday urged owners of two models in Slovakia to bring their cars to repair garages in order to check on possibly faulty airbag systems.
According to the Slovakian news agency Sita, Renault Slovensko said the models were the Fluence and Megane III Generation, amid a risk that the airbags would not open in an accident.
The carmaker said owners who did not follow its recall advisory would themselves bear the risk of a possible airbag malfunction during an accident.
Renault had issued a similar recall notice earlier this month in Ireland, the Sita report noted.
Renault cars are among the top sellers in Slovakia, but are not, in contrast to Peugeot and Citroen, produced in the country.
