New generation Smart fortwo
Aug 4, 2010, 14:48 GMT
Stuttgart - The new generation Smart fortwo will be available for European customers at the end of this year with a fresh interior, an upgraded exterior and more economical engines.
The petrol engines in the range from 45 to 52 kW have been refined with the car maker listing a carbon dioxide emission figure under 100 grammes per kilometre. Interior changes include fresh fabrics and colours as well as a new cockpit design. Optional LED daytime driving lights and new alloy wheels can also be chosen.
A larger range of colours is available for the new generation. Customers can choose from seven exterior colours instead of the previous six - including a trendy matt finish. In addition to the new colour matt light green, light blue metallic will replace the previous blue metallic.
On request, the mounted plastic body parts such as the front spoiler, side skirts and rear apron that previously were in matt black can be painted in the body colour. The 'bodypanel plus' package is a standard feature from the pulse line and upwards. In future, the fuel filler cap will be painted in the body colour, blending in with the bodypanels.
