Paris - Peugeot is planning a hybrid version of the 3008 Crossover powered by a 163 hp diesel engine supported by a 27 kW/37 hp electric motor driving the rear axle.
The French carmaker is presenting a concept study of the 3008 Hybrid4 at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, with production planned for early 2011.
Peugeot describes the combination of the two engines as a 'parallel' power unit, with the electric motor and combustion engine working in combination or separately from each other. Zero-emission electric drive is possible up to a range of five kilometres.
The standard zero to 100 km/h sprint is listed at 8.8 seconds, with a top speed of 209 km/h. Average consumption is at 3.8 litres with a carbon dioxide emission figure of 99 grammes per kilometre.
