Liam Gallagher is suing the New York Post for their reporting of his alleged American love child he had with a journalist.
According to the Post article, Gallagher is being sued in Manhattan family court by a woman who “specialises in interviewing celebrities”. The plaintiff is apparently seeking $3m and is “considering undergoing DNA tests” to support her case.
Although Friday’s legal hearing was not listed publicly, the Post reports that it took place with magistrate Matthew Troy under the heading “Anonymous v Anonymous”, and will continue later this month.
Gallagher’s spokesman confirmed that the rocker will be “pursuing legal action” against the tabloid.
The mercurial frontman, who the Daily Mail reports has allegedly “been banned” from returning home by his wife, has fathered a seven-month-old girl, Emma, was born in January to Liza Ghorbani following a long-running affair, according the New York newspaper.
Last year Gallagher bought a 2.5 million dollar apartment in Manhattan, close to Central Park and not far from where Emma is being raised.
Ghorbani, 39, reportedly told her friends their affair ended and then resumed again, according to another newspaper, the New York Daily News.
Ghorbani wrote a New York Times puff piece, entitled A Night Out With Liam Gallagher. In her NYT interview, she wrote of his new clothing line. Gallagher said, “I don’t want just anybody wearing [Gallagher’s clothing line] it…And people go, ‘Oh, beggars can’t be choosers.’ Well, I ain’t a beggar, you know what I mean?”
Gallagher is a father of three children: one with his first wife, Patsy Kensit, another with Lisa Moorish, and a third with his long-time partner Nicole Appleton. He and Appleton married in 2009.
