New York: The Saturday matinee of Brooklyn The Musical has to be cancelled because both Ramona Keller and her understudy Haneefah Wood were too sick to perform. The role in question was that of Paradice. A last minute replacement was found for the evening performance. Romelda Benjamin, who appeared in the pre-Broadway run at the Denver Civic Theater played the role on a few hours notice. Audience members reported that Benjamin performed with script in hand. It was also reported that audience members were offered free tickets to another performance if they chose to.
In Brooklyn, a group of street-corner singers tell the fairy tale about a young girl from Paris who has come to America to search for the father she never knew, and to the city of her name, Brooklyn.
