José González will be joining Zero 7 on the Tonight Show on August 28th to perform “Futures,” from Zero 7’s new album “The Garden” (Atlantic Records).
The album features González on four songs, “Futures,” “Today,” “Left Behind,” and the stunning Zero 7 rework of González’ own “Crosses.” The original recording of “Crosses” is the current single off of González’ debut album ‘Veneer’ (Mute Records).
González is currently on tour with Zero 7 – performing both as the opening act and onstage with Zero 7 during their performance, joining fellow Zero 7 vocalist Sia. A solo tour is scheduled to follow.
In addition to his upcoming live dates, which include appearances at LA’s Hollywood Bowl with Zero 7 and solo performances at this year’s Bumbershoot and Austin City Limits festivals, González recently appeared on NPR’s ‘All Things Considered’ and KCRW’s ‘Morning Becomes Eclectic.’ 2006 has also seen him perform solo on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Carson Daly Show, WXPN’s ‘World Café,’ and AOL’s ‘The Interface,’ as well as a special performance at KEXP’s ‘Live @ the Triple Door’ event series.
The Tonight Show performance will be González’ debut television performance with Zero 7.
