Johnny Weir ties the knot

Figure skating champion Johnny Weir got married on New Year’s Eve.

‘I’m married,’ Weir tweeted. ‘No more livin’ in sin.’

According to People, Weir’s rep reported that the 27-year-old wed his 28-year-old boyfriend Victor Voronov in a civil ceremony at the New York City Courthouse.

“The couple exchanged handwritten vows in the company of loving parents, Tony and Lili Voronov and Patti and John Weir,” the rep said.

Weir reassured friend and former Real Housewives star Jill Zarin on his Twitter account that with all the official stuff done now the wedding celebration would be in the summer.

The ‘Skating with the Stars’ judge told IceNetwork.com “I’m getting married on New Year’s Eve. His name is Victor, he’s kind of everything that I’ve ever looked for and aspired to be in a relationship with. We’ve known each other for a long time and we reconnected over the summer, and it’s just been a whirlwind.”

“He’s wonderful. He’s totally not in my field at all,” Weir gushed.

“He’s a lawyer,” Weir continued. “He’s in the legal field, completely separate from all of my razzle dazzle.”

Weir said he was unsure whether he was returning to competition even though he is resuming training with Galina at the end of January.

“If there is a moment for an official announcement after training then there will be some kind of announcement in the spring. But for now I really want to close myself off from the world.”
