***image2:left***New York: Jay Johnson: The Two and Only! played its final performance on Broadway on November 26th.
The producers previously announced that the production would play its final performance on either November 26th or December 2nd depending on ticket sales.
It won’t be the end for the production though, it has also been announced that the show will begin a national tour in Spring 2007 at the Majestic Theatre in Dallas.
In the play, the ancient craft of ventriloquism will be returned to its rightful place as an art form. Jay Johnson takes us on a multi-dimensional journey that combines his skills with a parade of characters that range from a subversive monkey to a withering tennis ball.
This Broadway production is co-created and directed by Murphy Cross and Paul Kreppel. The creative team includes scenic design by Beowulf Boritt, sound design by David Gotwald, original music by Michael Andreas, and lighting design by Clifton Taylor.
