Janet Jackson to tour North America

Pop icon Janet Jackson is bringing her ‘Janet Jackson Number Ones, Up Close and Personal’ tour to North America.

The tour will feature 35 stops in the United States and Canada with the cities suggested by her fans. The tour will see the singer performing music exclusively from her chart topping hits album ‘Number Ones’ and the venues will allow Janet to be up close and personal in a much more intimate setting.

The tour is designed to offer fans a different show in each city and give them a more intimate and personal performance than ever before.

In a press release, Janet expressed her gratitude and excitement for the upcoming shows in North America stating: “I thank my fans who have voted and helped me choose the cities we are announcing today.  Each of you are so important to me.  These concerts will be different from anything I have ever done.  I will be as up close and personal as possible.  These concerts are not about special effects.  This is a love affair between me and those of you who have supported me and my work for all these years.”
Janet will also be selecting the first fan winner of the contest in voting for the each of the selected cities. The winner will be announced on www.JanetJackson.com and they will receive an autographed copy of ‘Number Ones’ and an autographed copy of her upcoming book “True You” (on stands February 8th). In each of the 35 cities Janet will dedicate one of her number one songs to the city.
