Security at British royal Prince Charles’ wedding to fiancée Camilla Parker Bowles has been tightened – after two men broke into the grounds of Queen Elizabeth II’s Windsor Castle residence in London on Sunday (03APR05).
Fears were sparked for the safety of the Prince Of Wales’ wedding this Saturday (09APR05) when two Polish tourists climbed over a perimeter fence and reached the Queen’s bedroom window while she was in residence.
The security blunder allegedly occurred when an armed officer left his guard post outside the monarch’s apartments, enabling the men to walk into the grounds freely.
A source says, “A long-serving castle protection squad officer is saying he arranged to get off duty two hours earlier and swapped with a colleague. But the other officer vehemently denies that.”Note the date on this article may be incorrect due to importing it from our old system.
