Halle Berry has rejoined the cast of New Line’s ensemble romantic comedy “New Year’s Eve” in a smaller role.
According to Variety, production is underway.
The film will be a spinoff of Garry Marshall’s “Valentine’s Day.”
Marshall is returning to direct, along with producers Mike Karz and Wayne Rice, and screenwriter Katherine Fugate.
The film will be set in New York and follow the intertwining romantic stories of several characters on New Year’s Eve.
Katherine Heigl had replaced Halle Berry last month after Berry had to exit due to an upcoming custody battle over her young daughter with ex-boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry.
A judge ruled Wednesday that Berry could take her daughter with her to New York while she is shooting the film.
The cast also includes Robert De Niro, Ashton Kutcher, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank, Lea Michele, Sarah Jessica Parker, Til Schweiger, Sofia Vergara, Jessica Biel, Abigail Breslin, Zac Efron, Sienna Miller, Jon Bon Jovi, Josh Duhamel and Carla Gugino.
Biel and Kutcher were in “Valentine’s Day,” but those characters won’t be part of “New Year’s Eve.”
New Line will release the film on December 9, 2011. Note the date on this article may be incorrect due to importing it from our old system.
