George Strait hits the road with Martina McBride

Country music icon George Strait has announced plans to hit the road for 2012 tour and he is bringing the talented Martina McBride along for the ride. The tour kicks off January 27th in Lafayette, Louisiana and includes stops in Georgia, Florida, Arizona, Oklahoma, Nevada, Utah and Kansas.

In a press release, Strait stated: “I love Martina. She’s been on our tours before and she’s great. I’m really looking forward to the tour. Martina will definitely make it a special night.”

The tour is in support of Strait’s 39th studio album ‘Here for a Good Time’ –  which has received rave reviews and recently debuted at Number One on the Billboard Country Album Charts (his 3rd number one album debut in a row) and #3 on Billboard Top 200 Chart.

The title track “Here For A Good Time,” written by Strait, his son Bubba Strait and songwriter Dean Dillon, is Strait’s 73rd Top 5 hit out of 89 career singles and sits at Number 2 this week on the Billboard and Mediabase/Country Aircheck charts.
