An Xbox 360 argument between a father and son in Fern Ridge, Pennsylvania, has recently escalated to into a harrowing and full-blown shooting, reports the Morning Call news Web site.

According to a police statement, the argument erupted on Friday, January 04, when 60-year-old James Stanley Niedosik refused to take a look at his 17-year-old son’s malfunctioning Xbox 360 videogame system.

Morning Call offers that the disgruntled boy then proceeded to hand his father a .22 rifle before instructing his father to shoot him. Amazingly, Niedosik is believed to have carried out his son’s request, subsequently leaving the boy with a bullet lodged in his skull directly behind his ear.

The injured boy escaped death but is now under the care of the local Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, while his father is in Monroe County Prison charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and endangering the welfare of a child. Bail for Niedosik is set at a lofty $250,000 USD.

"One’s in jail, one’s in the hospital," commented Niedosik’s ex-wife Jeanie. "I won’t know exactly what happened until I talk to [my son]. He’s incoherent… they have him heavily sedated."

Mrs Niedosik also outlined that the shooting did not transpire in the manner being set forth by the police. According to Mrs Niedosik, who did not witness the argument and its eventual shooting, her ex-husband did indeed shoot their son, but it was purely accidental.
