From Monsters and Critics.com XBox 360 News While Rock Band might be lauding all the praise where downloadable content is concerned (entire albums, don’t ya know), there’s a certain other pioneering rhythm-based giant boasting its own form of longevity-boosting musical material. Indeed, fans of Activision’s Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock will be thrilled to learn that master recordings from the likes of Linkin Park, Mastadon, and The Used (two of which this writer has never heard of) are to be made available in a downloadable track pack before the end of the month. The ‘Warner/Reprise Track Pack will include ‘No More Sorrow’ by Linkin Park, ‘Sleeping Giant’ by Mastadon, and ‘Pretty Handsome Awkward’ by The Used. And that’s not all, pop-pickers, because the kindly people over at Activision will are also offering single track downloads from ‘popular’ European bands such as Extremoduro, Trust, and Die Fantastichen Vier (The Fantastic Four). And, keeping in line with the seasonal spirit, a free exclusive rock rendition of ‘We Three Kings,’ recorded by Steve Ouimette, will also be open for download. The individual tracks are ‘So Payaso’ by Extremoduro, ‘Antisocial’ by Trust, and ‘Ernten Was Wir Säen," (Reap What We Sow) by The Fantastic Four. All of the downloadable content will be made available via Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. Other renowned recording artists already in the ranks of quality to be found in Guitat Hero III: Legends of Rock include Aerosmith, Beastie Boys, Guns N’ Roses, Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine, and The Rolling Stones. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is rated ‘T for Teen’ and is available on the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 2.
