Disgruntled, it seems like you're the one who has a chip on their shoulder.
Not everyone in the US is an overgrown ape. We know how to handle CDs/DVDs. I think if you listen closely it's not that we're pissed that the game is going to come packaged scratched (because if it is then it's another issue all together). It's just shoddy and extremely lazy marketing/packaging. It's like MS said we don't really give a crap. And in the eye of any consumer that can really fume him/her.
Why even give us a box next time? How bout you just put them in an envelope and you can really save some cash.

Yeah, post is extremely off-base, and just made you out to be one of the 'babies' you were complaining about. My problem with the US case, is that it's not a terribly safe way to house the discs. I paid sixty dollars for a game, and I don't want to run the risk of any unnecessary damage to the discs. That's all. So fuck right off with your elitist attitude.

'First, if you’re really that concerned about scratches (which, by the way, DO NOT render a game unplayable unless carved in with a chisel) then don’t buy online but perhaps go to the store and lightly shake the game’s packaging.'

Wow, It's good to know that someone who knows all about lasers and digital media finally wrote an article. Well hate to say this, but I've gone through two of the US package versions of LO and in both cases one of the disks were unusable, or useable if you a gamer who enjoys trying to load a save games/cut scenes three or four times, even though on marks on them from purchase were very very minor. I intend to return my current copy to the store for cash and buy the Asian version and would recommend others thinking about buying the game to do the same. Or you may find yourself getting very frustrated when your game crashes due to a read error half way through a boss marathon.
