While perhaps not a glam as the BAFTA videogame awards, or media events such as the Spike VGAs, the The Independent Game Developers Association (TIGA) has this week honoured those most deserving at a "glittering" awards ceremony in London.

While we have no concrete evidence to suggest that glitter was in any way involved in the evening’s proceedings, we can confirm that a number of notable recipients stepped forward to accept their gongs during the event.
The annual TIGA Awards, which are voted on by TIGA members, saw the likes of Codemasters scoop the award for Best PC/Console Game of 2007 for its critically acclaimed racer Colin McRae: DiRT, while Kuju Entertainment took home the award for Best Handheld/Console Game.
"The European development community represents some of the best talent in the world," enthused outgoing TIGA chief executive officer Fred Hasson. "The awards presented last night are treasured by the winners as they are voted by and presented by their peers."
That’s no doubt a statement Hasson truly stands by, not least because he left the evening clutching the Best Player award for delivering the greatest individual contribution towards independent videogame development during 2007.The full list of winners is as follows:Best PC/Console Game developed by a TIGA member 2007Presented to: Codemasters Studios for Colin McRae: DiRTBest Handheld/Console Game developed by a TIGA member 2007Presented to: Doublesix: Kuju Entertainment for Geometry Wars: GalaxiesBest Mobile Game developed by a TIGA member 2007Presented to: Finbalde for Tomb Raider AnniversaryBest Technology 2007Presented to: Codemasters for The EGO EngineBest Cross Media Application of Games 2007Presented to: AudiomotionBest Developer - Greatest contribution to independent games development during 2007 by TIGA memberPresented to: DenkiBest Player - Greatest individual contribution to independent games development during 2007Presented to: Fred Hasson
