WarioWare: Smooth Moves is not like any other game. It is different, wacky and an experience that cannot properly be felt until you grab hold of the Wiimote.
The game begins with a simple 2D animation reminiscent of the classic Cartoon Network show, Powderpuff Girls. To be honest, the story doesn't matter. It's so silly and over the top that you won't take it seriously. In fact, I think that was the intention. More often than not you'll find yourself asking “What did I just see/do?”
So what exactly is WarioWare: Smooth Moves? It's a collection of micro mini-games that last mere seconds. Tons of levels are spread across a map, each consisting of its own storyline and 10-15 mini-games.
The games vary from weird to downright ridiculous! One second you'll be swatting a fly, and the next you'll be plucking a nose hair. To successfully complete the mini-games you'll have to hold the Wiimote in various ways. For some games you'll hold the Wiimote straight up as if holding an umbrella, while for other games you'll hold the Wiimote sideways with both hands, as if holding a steering wheel.
Visually, WarioWare: Smooth Moves' art style is a breath of fresh air. It has created its own look that stands out in an incredibly crowded market. It may not be the prettiest looking game, but it has charm – something lacking from a lot of the ultra-realistic video games.
Overall, WarioWare: Smooth Moves is highly recommended for fans of party games such as Mario Party or Fuzion Frenzy. While the mini-games in WarioWare: Smooth Moves may not be as complex as those other games, they provide the same level of enjoyment. If you're looking for a game that's fun for the entire family, definitely give WarioWare: Smooth Moves a chance.
