MARIO SPORTS MIX takes these traditional games and adds some Nintendo flavor to the mix.
Nintendo today announced Feb. 7, 2011 as the release date for it's Nintendo Wii game MARIO SPORTS MIX, which pits Nintendo characters against each other in hockey, basketball, volleyball and dodgeball.
MARIO SPORTS MIX takes these traditional games and adds some Nintendo flavor to the mix. Each game contains a number of power-ups such as banana peels, green shells and mini mushrooms. Also, each character can unleash his or her unique special move that ranges from Mario's fire dunk in basketball to Yoshi's rainbow attack in dodgeball.
Power-ups aren't the only things that affect gameplay though, as the actual environments also play a role in determining who comes out victorious. For example, the Wario Factory has conveyor belts that affect how the players move on the court, while in Peach's Castle, fountains go up and down to block certain areas of the net in Volleyball.
The game supports four players locally, while up to four players (one or two at each location) can play online. Players can play online against friends with whom they have traded friend codes, or anonymously against other opponents.
