Electronic Arts announced today that EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis is now available in North American retail stores and will be available worldwide by June 12, 2009. Developed specifically for the Wii by EA Canada, Grand Slam Tennis includes all four Grand Slams and is the only game to feature Wimbledon.
The game features many tennis greats including Roger Federer, Pete Sampras and John McEnroe, who appears exclusively in the game and graces the North American cover, along with Federer and Serena Williams.
Grand Slam Tennis is also one of first titles compatible with the Wii MotionPlus accessory, providing a new level of control previously unseen in past tennis games. In Europe, Grand Slam Tennis will be exclusively bundled with the Wii MotionPlus accessory.
Also included is a Tennis Party mode, where a dozen party games can be played including “King of the Court”, “Tag Team” and “Drops and Lobs”. With online capability, connect with new opponents and add to your country’s point total on the Battle of the Nations leader board.
Lastly, those looking to stay fit while playing will be glad to know that Grand Slam Tennis features a fitness component which allows players to track the calories burned after each match. Personal goals can be set and managed on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
