This year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas may have been somewhat disappointing for watching videogame fans – though it generally isn’t known for its gaming focus – but that doesn’t mean that the industry was totally overlooked during the course of the show.

Specifically, technology Web site CNET (which happens to own GameSpot and GameFAQs) has bestowed its "Best of CES" honour on peripherals expert Nyko Technologies for its Wireless Nunchuck controller for Wii.
According to CNET editor in chief Jai Singh, Nyko’s wireless controller demonstrated the "creativity, excellence and vision that sets the standard in gaming." He also added that Nyko’s impressive peripheral device had been selected form hundreds of products showcased during this week’s CES event.
"The nomination for CNET’s ‘Best of CES’ award was an honor in itself, but taking home the award for the gaming category is an even greater privilege," enthused Chris Arbogast, Director of Marketing at Nyko Technologies. "Winning this prestigious award showcases how highly consumers and the tech community think of Nyko’s commitment to advancing gameplay technologies."
Nyko’s Wireless Nunchuck has beaten Nintendo to the market and offers Wii owners truly wire-free gaming thanks to a small dongle receiver that attaches to the base of the Wii Remote and allows the third-party 'Nunchuk' (which is virtually identical to Nintendo’s device) to perform without the need for an unruly and restrictive wire that’s prone to tangling.
The Wireless Nunchuck functions via two AAA batteries and is capable of supplying up to 30 hours of gameplay. Nyko will introduce its award-winning control peripheral before the close of 2008’s first quarter.
