Some things in life that successfully tweak your geek gland can be resisted with a focused conviction, such as automated Pac-Man plush toys, or Nintendo mushroom lamps. But when it comes to the vice-like grip of all-things Star Wars, the words "no, I’m too old," simply disappear from the vocabulary archive of the weak minded.
New Star Wars Plug & Play system offers up the classic movie trilogy for a mere $25 USD. Credit: Urban Outfitters.
Case in point, while Halo USB memory sticks may be relatively easy to turn one’s eyes from, and barely register minimal warmth through a gamer’s wallet, a new plug-and-play gaming system that encapsulates the original Star Wars trilogy and includes a Millennium Falcon joystick controller rather threatens to burn a hole in both adoring corneas while leaving rampant scorch marks singed through the bank balance.
Think that’s a lie? Meet the Star Wars Plug & Play controller system, which delivers four fast-paced videogames that stretch across George Lucas’ classic cinematic trilogy, and packs them all into the uber cool Millennium Falcon controller. Stop drooling.
Those games include: the Lightsaber Duel game, which allows players to re-create some of the most memorable fight sequences from the original films; the Assault on Hoth, which places the brave Rebel Alliance before advancing Imperial forces on the planet’s inhospitable icy surface; Red Leader, which puts the player behind the controls of an X-Wing attack fighter to repel wave upon wave of Imperial ships; and finally Battle of Endor sees the player helping Chewbacca disable the Death Star shield generator on the forest moon of Endor before piloting the Millennium Falcon into the very heart of the Empire’s most terrifying weapon to destroy it from within.
Sound appealing? Love Star Wars as though it were a religion? Got $25 USD to spare? Then taking ownership of this tantalising bundle is easily accomplished (click Urban Outfitters to scoop it) and will see you lavished with a system that simply attaches to any compatible TV, DVD player or computer monitor via an included RCA cable.
Go on, you know you want to.
