That stinks. i was disipointed that sony would not give the psp fat skype. if I had known that sony would release the psp slim, I would not buy the fat. oh well.
Citing lack of RAM as the reason for not support the PSP-1000 is simply not true. the 24MB of usable RAM on the PSP should be plenty for Skype to run with a little optimization. I'd say it's marketing - Sony wanting existing PSP-1000 users to upgrade to PSP-2000 or even PSP-3000.
We've bought the hardware once, I'm not buying it again!

LOL! What problem is to make Skype for PSP 1000. I dont want voice and video. I need only text messages. It dont takes 64mb RAM...

yeah id have to agree, but how many times have we bought new game consoles in the past? if they made things fully upgradable no one would buy anything new after a while.
