Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe Review (PS3)

this is one of the best action games i have ever played.
take this from a guy who helped test the game...
well ya it's a good game with lots of stuff 2 do, the dc guys with the mk ppl make a grat mix with cool new powers and ppl to play with.
other than that it is a 10/10!

I thought the game was poorly done. The voice acting cheesey and boring. And even when you take into account MK games are poorly done story wise and any sense of character depth is laughable, this is bad. Really bad. But its an MK game so lets look at combat. Which is shallow and uninvolving. The fight feels sluggish and imbalanced especially when you are fighting as the Flash against virtually anyone. You can teleport strike the life out of them and not have anyone come close to having a chance to beating you IF you are pulling off the same move over and over with the right rhythm.
That alone is an exploitable enough game mechanic that just can't be fixed without a whole overhaul of the game.
It's piss poor and I cannot see how you gave the game anything above 3.

And to the above poster. If you play tested the game, shame on you. You gave us a poorly done game that could have been amazing. The damage recognition is so bad you can get hit over and over without taking much damage.
Poorly done game on every front.
Except the backgrounds look pretty. The characters generally look awful.
It's as if they spent more time creating environ destruct animations then anything.
Awful just Awful.

I completely agree with the above post. I was more than excited when I heard this game was coming out, I thought it would be the game of the year... I was poorly mistaken, the fighting is just brutal, not even up to par on the old MK games, it almost reminds me of the first tekken, slow, choppy, and the combos are pathetic. They focused too much on making the game look nice, rather than having good gameplay, which is a major mistake alot of companies are making since the 360 and PS3 came out; Sure its nice to have a kool backround and moderatly realistic characters, but the bottom line is the gameplay is crap, they rushed it knowing that the names (Mortal Kombat & DC) would sell the game regardless, they shouldn't prey on nostalgia, unless they are goint to make it a decent game... I give this game 2 stars out of 10. it really is that bad.

I thought this game was really stuipid because it had Mortal Kombat in the name and when i played it, it had crapy fighting and lame fatalities (well most). It just didnt seem like a true MK game.
