From Monsters and Critics.com PS3 News Posting on its official PlayStation Blog, videogame giant Sony has said that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will arrive before the end of 2008’s second quarter, which ends on June 30. The post arrived during the Destination PlayStation retailer conference in Arizona and, although Sony withheld the game’s final release date, attending retailers have suggested that Hideo Kojima’s eagerly anticipated series finale will arrive some time in med-June. According to GameSpot, which outlines that some retailers are known for leaking release dates, online product pages for MGS4 on Amazon and GameFly indicate that the game will hit on June 12, while GameStop has it pinned for June 17. Interestingly, GameStop’s date falls on a Tuesday, which is a favourite release day with publishers when it comes to US top-flight videogame arrivals. Furthermore, in order to bolster the appeal of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (not that it needs its appeal bolstering) and its powerhouse console, Sony has announced that the game will be added into a $499.99 USD hardware bundle, which will include an 80GB PlayStation 3 and the DualShock3 force feedback controller. Thankfully, long-suffering PlayStation 3 owners craving the return of gameplay rumble won’t have to wait until the arrival of the hardware bundle to secure their DualShock3 controllers. Specifically, the controller will make its retail debut in April for $54.99 USD, with more than 100 PS3 games already compatible with its rumble technology. © Copyright 2007 by monstersandcritics.com.
