From Monsters and Critics.com PS3 News Konami’s 2008 entrant to its hugely popular Pro Evolution Soccer franchise may have failed to emulate the overwhelming success of its predecessors – not least because of a host of gameplay glitches – but Japanese developer Konami isn’t about to give up on its long-running sporting heavyweight. Moreover, Konami Digital Entertainment has today released yet another update patch for Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 – this time specifically for the PlayStation 3 platform. According to Konami, the downloadable patch "will solve compatibility issues" gamers have experienced when taking to the digital pitch on a standard-definition television set. "The free download fixes the slight stuttering effect that occurs when the game is played on a non-HD source, and will be downloaded automatically when the game is [next] played online." This latest patch follows on the heels of a fix released at the tail end of 2007 that addressed problems with frame rate processing, slowdown, and online lag apparent on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game.
