'Killzone 2' Flash and Thunder map pack announced

Sony today announced the "Flash and Thunder Pack," new downloadable content for Killzone 2 on PLAYSTATION 3.

Sony today announced the "Flash and Thunder Pack," new downloadable content for Killzone 2 on PLAYSTATION 3. The pack will feature the Beach Head and Southern Hills maps. They’re two of the best maps from the original Killzone for PlayStation 2 – completely remade for PS3.

The Beach Head map sees the ISA tasked with defending a coastal stronghold against a Helghast landing force. The battlefield is limited in size – which means more action, more hand-to-hand combat, along with plenty of sneaking and melee kills.

The Southern Hills map sees the ISA attempting to storm a Helghast compound on top of a hill. A mix of built-up terrain and wide open spaces, this map is perfect for headshot sniper kills and is full of hiding places -- which you'll need in this large-scale map, capable of accomodating a high numbers of players.

The Flash and Thunder Pack will arrive in the PlayStation Store on June 11, 2009.
