The playable demo is already cutting a swathe across the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Store, and the anticipation of its faithful fan base is fast approaching critical mass, but that doesn’t mean Capcom shouldn’t keep nudging expectation for Devil May Cry 4 that little bit closer to meltdown.
Specifically, the renowned Japanese videogame developer and publisher has today unveiled another half dozen screenshots – some of which look truly gorgeous – to help pave the way for the imminent arrival of its blood-splattered hack-and-slash spectacular.
Devil May Cry 4, which was initially penciled in as a PlayStation 3 exclusive, is scheduled for retail release on February 05 (in North America) for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Games for Windows platforms. The game carries an ‘M for Mature’ rating from the ESRB.
Devil May Cry 4 is set to arrive in Europe on February 08.
As the final days tick by until players gleefully assume the role of new series protagonist Nero, we’ll all simply have to continue suffering through the prolonged torture that a myriad of screenshots, trailers, gameplay clips, and webdoc interviews bring with them.
Oh, the pain.
