Yet more rumour-rich content on offer today, with the first story of note arriving in the form of some-always welcome fanboy baiting.
Specifically, Alex Rowe at TeamIcoGamers claims that a "heated IM discussion" concerning which of this generation’s major hardware players will emerge as the eventual gaming winner, recently led to some blurted information regarding the year’s upcoming software revelations on the PlayStation 3.
Alex claims that an unnamed friend "who works at Sony Computer Entertainment Japan" has let slip that more than 20 exclusive first-party titles will be unveiled for the PlayStation 3 in 2008.
Probing for more information, the source then added that Project Siren, Team Saru, and also Team Ico are just three of the development studios that will be soon whipping the covers off new PS3 content - with Team Ico thought to be working on two exclusive titles for Sony’s platform.
In terms of past achievements, Project Siren has produced the Forbidden Siren series on PlayStation 2, while Team Saru has crafted the Ape Escape series, and Team Ico helmed the critically acclaimed Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.
TeamIcoGamers suggests that one of the two Team Ico titles will likely arrive via download through the PlayStation Network, while the other will be Blu-ray based through traditional retail routes.
No specifics, just speculation at this juncture. More as and when we get it.
