Wow. you people are idiots. Somebody please tell me how the majority of you manage to walk out of the house with your pants on correctly. Wherever did you come up with such clever little plays on words such as 'gaylo 3' and 'gaystation'? I mean your collective prowess with the english language leaves me enraptured in only the highest state of ecstasy.
What I'm really driving at here is, as much as you don't care what I'm saying here, nobody could possibly care any less about what the rest of you are saying. 'Lol xbox is ghey', is not an argument anymore than 'gaystation is t3h suck'. You are converting no one and embarrassing yourselves by putting your ignorance on display. Now if you'll excuse me, my high horse needs some tending to.
It's actually interesting to see people make such a huge deal over this. Alright, so I admit, I'm just as bummed out as the next guy that MGS 4 isn't coming to the 360, and I don't even own the console. But the funny thing is, there's way too much madness being spouted on both sides. 360 gamers are trying to reach for a resolution, while PS3 gamers are reveling on the only worthwhile exclusive they've gotten since launch.
So let me break it down for you; MGS is NOT exclusive to Sony. Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 were MSX games, the first of which was ported to the NES. Metal Gear Solid was ported to the PC, and remade on the Gamecube as The Twin Snakes. Metal Gear Solid 2 was re-released as Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance on both, the PC and XBox. The point? People who have been touting 'ending' the series on the same console have no argument, seeing as the series never started on a Sony console, nor did it stay exclusive to it in the first place.
Now we've got this weird stuff about....what was it? 'Honoring' an agreement? Yeah, I think I'm going to have to side with the people here who have stated, numerous times I might add, that in a business, money comes first. It's the same reason Kojima didn't release Boktai 3 in the US, and it's the same reason why Boktai DS was renamed to Lunar Knights; because the series hadn't sold well in the first place. The poster above me made comments about 'honor' and contradicted himself when he said 'that's the reason why MGS3 wasn't released on anything aside from the PS2', and that was because of the fact that it may not have sold as well. Honor had nothing to do with this. You may have experience dealing with the Japanese casually, but business will always be business.
Finally, the PS gamers here seem to be enjoying taking stabs at the 360 gamers, with comments like 'the 360 has no exclusives'. That my friends, is a double edged blade. It's true, the 360 does have a lot of games that were eventually ported to the PC, or they may share some games with the PS3, but tell me, what exclusives does the PS3 have at the moment? I keep hearing about some generic FPS called Resistance, but that's really about it. It may recieve Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid, but three games won't keep the console from losing out to a lot more potential 360 exclusives, regardless of how they come from popular franchises. So in closing, this isn't a pissing contest about exclusives, this is about which console is more appealing, and which one has the games that need playing.
I'll give the PS gamers the satisfaction of saying, the PS2 won the previous generation's console race because it had all the games in it's pocket. It had binding contracts with most of the big third party companies, so there wasn't much competition between them and the other two consoles. But in the end, I could just as well say, that for every 100 games that were released on the PS2, about 70 of them were either crap, or were multiconsole. The XBox had a plethora of good, worthwhile games, and the Gamecube prided itself on a high rate of good games in comparisson to the very few bad ones that were released.
So let's face it guys, the 360 is this generation's PS2. There's no denying the PS3 is the more superior console, hardware wise, but the PS2 in comparisson to the XBox and Gamecube, was a much inferior one. This isn't about graphics, processors, or disc capacity, this is about business, money, and fanbase. Also, people need to stop BSing about the 360's repair costs amounting to more than the PS3 costs, because that problem had been rectified, three revisions ago. The 360 no longer overheats, there is no RRoD, nor does it crash or anything. Also, this argument about a 50Gb Blu Ray disc competing with a 9Gb DVD? Umm hello....previous installments of the series have been placed on more than one disc, so I don't really see that as being far fetched.
But in the end, I see no need for enmity between either group. Each console has it's ups and downs, but not a single one of you has the right to bash another's opinion just because it differs from your own. We can all get along well, enjoy what games we have on whatever consoles we own, and learn to communicate on equal terms with our fellow peers. Unless of course, you'd all like to go the way of PC gamers, who happen to be some of the saddest cases of elitist pricks I have ever seen.
Hey, you know what would be hilarious? Cancelling production of MGS 4 on the PS3 and making it a Wii exclusive! I'm kidding, just a bit of a tension breaker there. XD

And I will say it now, I will not buy a ps3 to play this game. Same with many other MGS4 fans who own 360's. Which in time will cause the game to come out to the 360 hopefully.
All you morons who think this game won't run on the 360...is the dumbest statement in the world. The PS3 version will not run on the 360 cause it is for the PS3, but the developers can make a copy for the 360. It is their damn job.
Wow, because another company sold out means this company will sell out? Denial is a treatable condition, the first step starts with getting over it. The xb2 does cost more, not saying its a bad deal it just craps out on a good percent of people, and it still does even with the fact that they are now on the 10 'Re-launch' of it (you didnt hear this from me, but the next 5 versions will still be laking a built in hd dvd player), and RETURNS DO NOT COUNT AS SALES. You guys are getting screwed over, pay for internet, then repairs, o, and lets not leave out that addon movie player or hard drive, micro is making a ton of money, then they get to count the return as a sale, makes them look good. Face it the xb2 is not the new ps2, hd dvd is dead, so yo have like 15% of the market left and its still shrinking, HA.
Oh and you right about the muti disc thing, other than the fact that that hasnt been done for years, and it would be on no less than 6 discs, but you raise a good point, if they wanted to make money they could, 6+ hd dvds at 60 bucks a pop is 360 dollars(funny, isnt it?).
Think, Wish, Pray, Beg, Plead, Cry, Piss, Bitch, Moan, Ask, Hope, you can pick any of these, because it is not coming out on the xb2.

Are you talking about the link with the picture showing mgs4 as a PS3 exclusive? Or any of the sites that have an 'reliable' or 'bankable' source that still say mgs4 is coming to the xbox2?
Because right now sony has given proof that mgs4 is for the ps3 and not coming to the xbox2, 1: the photo, 2-10: every time konomi and Hideo Kojima have said its for the PS3.
What does the xbox2 have to show as proof, a few mags that want sales, a few loyalist xbox websites, and a bunch of fans that know this one guy, that know this other dude, that heard from his friend, that read on the internet that this one guy has a magazine, that heard from this one guy, that his friends, brothers, uncles, co-workers, cousin, heard from this guy, (For the ease of the readers i have left out over 10 more pages of this) but it ends off with this one guy who says its coming to the xbox2, with better graphics, more levels, more guns, more bosses, with the full version of MGO, and an alround longer and better storyline, on a 9 gigabyte disc.
for the sake of a argument, even if it was on a few discs like the other writer said it would take 6 dual layer hd dvd discs at 9gigs a disc (6x9=54) to equal the 50 gigabytes on one dual layer Blu-ray disc.
Mgs4 isnt going anywhere other than the PS3, ill take the creators word, someone who has been working on this game now for a few years, who has more than a clue as to what is going one, who calls the shots on what is happening and whats going into the game (if nothing more shows you where they are, they put a sony sixaxis or shock PS3 controller into mgs4), over the word of this 'reliable source' that the xbox2 people wave above there heads like its gold.
And because someone else fliped for money, a whole different company (why because microsoft had to pay them, not because the xbox2 is a system that they saw any interest or potential in, no but because they payed them a lot of cash)
Mgs4 is not coming to or near the xbox 1 or 2, or any other xbox, ever. Not with another name, not with a re-release, not late, never. If you guys really want to play mgs4 get a PS3 because that is the only way you will get to play it.
Ok, obviously this whole subject is based on fanboyism. What the hell ever happened to just good ol fashioned enjoyment?? Just because somebody wants an excellent game to come to their system because of their console decision they're a fanboy?? Not everybody has the money to afford both systems so of course people are going to want the game to come out for the system that they can afford. Sure, there's no denying that MGS4 will sell PS3s, but not everyone has the money to shuffle out for the one GOOD exclusive game that came out for the PS3. I could see if the PS3 had a better exclusive line-up, but they don't. Some people don't wanna buy a system they're only gonna use to play one game, so they're gonna push on in hopes that another great game comes out for their system, so they have more enjoyment. I own neither system, so don't try to classify my opinion as fanboyism. It would be cool if everyone just grew up and got over the fanboy bull.
You know what, i hate it when people say 'IT'S NOT EXCLUSIVE COS IT'S COMING TO PC', well, it's still microsoft exclusive. It's like if a PS3 game gets ported onto the PSP and claiming its not exclusive. In a way it's not, but it reamains exculsive to the company. (Sony).
Now onto this whole MGS4 argument: I did not like the series so reguardless of console i would not buy it.
Fanboys: I own a 360, and only a 360. But as a gamer i appreciate the work that has gone into making the consoles, and the unique features they have. In the end it's all a matter of preference.

No you're wrong the game will be better on the playstation 3, it uses Blu-ray which hold up to 50 gigs your 360 games are Dual layer DVD's so how can 360 have better graphics than PS3.I've seen most games in HD,and in all honesty the graphics were bad. Some people are just in denial. MGS series will always be a Playstation exclusive title.
Granted, MGS2 did get ported by a third-party to the Xbox at a later stage (alongside PC release), but MGS3 did not.
So what makes people think MGS4 will be on Xbox 360?
This isn't really about MGS at all. Its really about 'mine's better than yours' syndrome that's in the minds of Xbox 360 and PS3 fans.
Personally, I'm just interested in how Snake's story ends.
^^^How many times do I have to correct people? MGS2: Substance is what was released on Xbox and PC, and the PS2 version was released later with an add-on cd, not MGS2: Sons of Liberty. MGS2 substance is non-canon, so it shouldn't give xbox 360 gamers hope in a release of a metal gear canon game.

I liked MGS2, but that's it.
