First?
Well, this comes at a loss for words. When I read the title outside the news stand, I thought it was referring to 'Officially Announces: MGS4 on Xbox!!' Well, I was dead wrong... Thank God!
Fanboys, let's be reasonable here. Money was never the issue. Sony and Konami share a deal and that deal is to release a game that finishes off Solid Snake's story on the Playstation 3, concluding all that happened in MGS1, which took place on The Playstation! This business is 'loyalty to the end', to put it. And I bet not one 'fanboy' knows what I'm talking about when I say that phrase, because they have absolutely no idea what it is. All they want is a port of the game, so that 360 sales go up, and PS3 sales go down. They don't care where the adventure of Solid Snake (Old Snake) leads us to, or where 10 years of story concludes, because these fanboys haven't played a single Metal Gear in their whole life. And if they have, they don't remember it. All they know is that a single game like MGS4 has stirred up the audience with its dashing gameplay, single motivating storyline, and 'years in the work' fine tuning and tweaking. Now, they see it's on the Playstation 3. What do we do?! Rant. PS3 can't have a 3rd party exclusive, but Bioshock and Mass Effect on the Xbox3shitty can?! Yeah, it's about time this rumor got cleared up. I was sick and tired of reading about it. Thank you very much, Konami.

Are you guys kidding me? this is marketing at it's best! Have you ever thought that the rumors of Metal Gear Solid coming to the Xbox 360 and the fact that Konami announced 'For the record, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is a PlayStation 3 exclusive and there are no plans to develop an Xbox 360 version of the game' can BOTH be true!?!?!?!

This has happened so many times before with other 'exclusive' titles. Mark my words...this is what's going to happen:

1) Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots comes out for Playstation 3
2) 3 Months later it is announced that Metal Gear Solid will be coming out for Xbox 360 as well, but it's a different game...called Metal Gear Solid: The Return of the Snake' or some thing like that (I just made up that name)

This way they stay true to Sony by offering the GAME as an exclusive, but still milk the install base of the Xbox360 by offering the franchise to Xbox. There is no way Konami will not tap into Microsoft's customer base, there is just way too much money there. Loyalty only gets you so far...this is big business, with big money behind it. They need to maximize their profits after all they have invested in R&D. Trust me, you will be seeing this game on Xbox.

Come on guys let's be civil about this! Lets put all this 'fanboy' stuff to bed. How many times do Microsoft fans start blowing their trumpets when a hot title gets the exclusive on their side? Alot right? So let Sony fans and MGS fans have a moment for a change okay? I personally feel good about the saga ending on the PS3 because it just feels right and it doesn't make me want to scream and shout about how much the 360 sucks or how much ill will I feel towards any 360 owner. It's all good in the end and these games are top notch no matter what side your'e on. The days of sophomoric competitiveness are over and should have ended with the mid 90's! Let's move on and appreciate what we got!

This is the EXACT same 'Official Denial Comment' that Capcom said THE DAY BEFORE Capcom issued their 'Official Confirmation Comment' for Devil May Cry for the Xbox 360.

Konami has said 'no' many times...but it only takes ONE 'Yes.'

Konami is obviously making this announcement because XboxFamily wrote an article a couple days ago which CONFIRMED that Metal Gear Solid 4 had been in Development for the Xbox 360 since January of 2007, and would launch shortly after the Playstation 3 version, with additional features not found in the Playstation 3 version.

Even G4 Television and Gametrailers have SPECIFICALLY said that it is not a matter of 'IF' Metal Gear Solid 4 is released for the Xbox 360...it is just a question of 'WHEN,' it is released for the Xbox 360, and what additional features it will have on the Xbox 360.

Does it really matter? All you ps3 fanboys need to stop along with all of you 360 fanboys. The fact of the matter is if a company needs to recoup the losses of making a game as big as Metal Gear Solid 4 then they need to sell as many copies as they can. Period. If Konami wants to make any money on this game they will do WHATEVER it takes to make said money. If that means a port so be it. Oh and for the person who said the negative comment about Wii owners---Go to hell, I am 30 years old and I love my Wii. True it may not be as graphically capable as the other two systems but it still provides Me and the other 14 million owners a fun experience which is all that matters when all is said and done. Can u say that about the 6-8 million ps3 owners out there?

Frankly, I don't really see the connection between DMC and MGS4 in the previous post, but the very first one made a lot of sense. 'About time,' indeed.

I admit the 360 and PS3 both have good games. If I had that much money, I'd buy and play them all, but to be humble about it, my pockets ain't that deep.

If a much-hyped game is not coming to a certain system, all the insistences and rumor-mongering by pig-headed system loyalists will not change that. You're simply wasting time and energy into all those keystrokes trying to make your point on such an issue. Just let go. It is sad to hear that the phrase 'reality bites' barely works (or in the case of some die-hards, doesn't work) on them.

To Konami, two thumbs up for setting the facts straight. Thank you so much.

What have XBox 360 boys got to look forward to in 08????? nothing compared to PS3 , shall we start: Little Big Planet, Metal gear solid, Haze, Home, Unreal tournament 3(for europe), Final Fantasy (haha another big miss for Xbox's). Now lets look at Xbox: Too human (yet another Halo/Bioshock game, devil may cry 4 (shared with us im afraid, and grand theft auto (again shared with us.

sorry xbox fans, you had your chance to make good ground, sony are sure now to overtake.

im so sick of both this story and of people saying 'PS3 has no games', 'PS3 only has Metal Gear, nothing else', 'Lair sucked so the PS3 sucks' so here it goes. list all the exclusives on the xbox that i am missing out on. go for it... please, I'm very interested.

Gears of War is on PC

All the other Halo games are on PC 3 will follow

Bioshock is on PC

the fact is the xbox has fewer exclusive games than the PS3. the PS3 bashers should do some research and attack the consoles real flaws, real flaws that arent present in the xbox of cource.

if you want to slag sony here are some topics

-Lackluster PSN updates
-Woeful advertising campains
-Failure to include a HDMI cable in the box
-Releasing rumble in Japan but delaying the launch in Europe and America

This is like the tenth time they have said this, i say we stop calling this a rumor and start calling it wishful thinking.

But lets not forget the xbox2 reliable source for this wishful thinking. A guy who knows a guy, who has a friend, that knows a person, whos brothers uncle's friend knows another person, that knows this one dude... i dont have time to finish this... there are another 100 people, but it ends off with this one guy who says its coming to the xbox2, with better graphics, more levels, more guns, more bosses, with the full version of MGO, and an alround longer and better storyline, on a 9 gigabyte disc. (The real MGS4, you know, the one for the PS3, is on a dual layer Blu-ray disc, a 50 gigabyte disc.) So lets forget about the 10 or more times Hideo Kojima and Konami have said that its a PS3 exclusive, they know nothing, nah they have know idea whats going on with there own game, that reliable source (see above) knows what whats really going on. MGS4 on xbox2 is wishful thinking, no means no!
